We are situated in the heart of Poitou-Charentes in the department of Deux-Servres (79),
5kms from Chef-Boutonne and its Chateau de Javarzay (one of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance architecture in the Deux-Sevres and constructed about 1513 by Francois de Rochechouart), we run a small of mixed husbandry farm set in 12 hectares.

We grow lucerne, grasses and cereals to feed the livestock that we raise – Poitou donkeys, Poitevine goats, grey marsh geese and Marans chickens.

We started our farm for two reasons :

  • A lifestyle choice. Fed up with city life, we wanted to live and raise our children in a more peaceful environment with simpler and deeper values.
  • The desire to involve ourselves in the building of a cleaner and more sustainable form of farming and to fight against the continuing disappearance of the many breeds of animals unsuited to modern farming and whose protection and preservation is only made possible by a few impassioned breeders (often private individuals keeping a few specimens of a breed).

Our venture began in 1998 with goats’ milk production.

Explore our farm and find out about all our activities.

You’ll learn about the Poitevine goats and Marans chickens and Poitou donkeys, plus details on farm visits, the terms and conditions of our gite rental, and the goods and services on offer (farm produces, animals, livery and Covering for donkeys, courses, transport....)
